Topaz Cub welcome the return of Obi James to their 2nd annual Symposium.

Obi  is the Founder and Director of Obi James Consultancy Limited, dedicated to building high performance organisations by transforming how leaders and team work together. She has 15 years leadership development and has worked with leadership teams and boards across various organisations such as Morgan Stanley, Northern Trust, Thomson Reuters, Women in Banking & Finance (WIBF), Farfetch, Mayor of London and the NHS. She was recently elected to join the Council and Board of Trustees for Royal African Society (RAS) and has been interviewed on CNBC Africa, Africa’s first and most powerful business media brand.

Obi is a sought-after speaker and has spoken on topics such as Tackling the Entrepreneurs Challenges, Leadership and the Power of Collaboration at events such as the Global Finance Transformation Summit, and to MSc Entrepreneurship students at Cass Business School. She was one of last year’s Topaz Club speakers and introduced us to the CEO Mindset.

Obi has a strong passion for relationship management and client service. She has mentored hundreds of small businesses and start-ups across the UK, helping them to demystify the world of business, and giving them confidence to build and grow fulfilling, sustainable businesses. She currently co-runs the South East London Self-employed Parents (SELSEP) group where she continues to support local businesses through group coaching, business mentoring and facilitated networking events.

According to Obi, her big dream is to build a network of systems-inspired leaders and change agents to work with her to create sustainable change in Africa, helping the continent to maximise its vast resources.
